Wise Men Still Seek Him

Wise Men Still Seek Him

My final Christmas card of 2014 is one that points us to the real meaning of Christmas. Many of you comment that you appreciate my more spiritual cards. To me, they are where Christmas begins, and the holiday would be meaningless without the truth of Christ's birth at the centre of it all.

This 5"x7" card has a white base. I had a pretty blue sky-like paper in my stash that always looked like a night sky to me. This became the background.

What makes the card special is the title phrase: "Wisemen Still Seek Him".

Note:  I know there is a similar phrase on the Winter Frolic cartridge, but they substituted the word "seek" with "adore". Though a nice thought, the Magi who saw the star and followed it, were seeking the newborn king. The truth is, wise men and women do seek Him. First we seek, then we find, then we adore.

I created the phrase on my Gypsy using two favourite new fonts from Library Fonts. The phrase is cut from sturdy silver cardstock.

Wisemen were stamped on white cardstock with black ink and heat embossed.
The star centre is accented with a crystal gem.

Easy and Effective Christmas Card

LET IT SNOW

Let It Snow, Christmas card by Grace Baxter

Late Christmas Eve, I was finishing up a few cards. This one was easy to pull together. The textured paper with the sign on the fence was already enough.

But of course, to add more interest I had to add the cute little vintage sled and an extra layer of snow, cut freehand and sparkled with glitter.

To make the sign 3D, I added glitter to snowy tops of the letters. This is a 5"x6-1/2" card with a white base.

Cartridge Used

Joys of the Season - sled
